About this work
The Little Man Rusticus Schermutsius as a member of the Tyrolean militia. Verses in German, French, and Dutch in the caption. Numbered right center: 39. Print within a decorative border printed from a separate plate with little people making music and an ape eating porridge at the bottom. Part of Part II in the second Dutch bound edition of 1720 (related to the Windhandel of that year) of a series of caricatures of little people, known as Het Dwergentooneel, partly copied from an older German model.
