About this work

The Little Man Margriet van Majersveld, a peasant woman and twelve-year-old bride with a rake on her shoulder. Verses in German, French, and Dutch in the caption. Numbered right center: 40. Print within a decorative border printed from a separate plate with two little people at a fruit basket at the bottom. Part of Part II in the second Dutch bound edition of 1720 (related to the Windhandel of that year) of a series of caricatures of little people, known as Het Dwergentooneel, partly copied from an older German model.
