About this work
A Little Man as the Dutch Doctor Rocus Tabacius, director of a tobacco company in Virginia and Brazil, standing smoking a pipe in his dressing gown. Verses in Dutch and French in the caption. Numbered right center: 27. Print within a decorative border printed from a separate plate with little people making music and an ape eating porridge at the bottom. Part of Part II in the second Dutch bound edition of 1720 (related to the Windhandel of that year) of a series of caricatures of little people, known as Het Dwergentooneel, partly copied from an older German model.
