About this work

Man and woman in costume from the Zeeland island of Zuid-Beveland. The farmer with a spade in his hand, and the woman wears a wide red skirt. Fourth installment of four plates, published in 1805. Part of a bound edition of the series of twenty plates of Dutch costumes in the Batavian Republic at the beginning of the nineteenth century by Maaskamp, ca. 1807.
