About this work

A shopkeeper (with a wig) of the Evangelical Brethren shows a needle case to a customer, a young woman from Alkmaar. The man belongs to the Evangelical Brethren (Herrnhutters) in Zeist. Second installment of four plates, published in 1804. Part of a bound edition of the series of twenty plates of Dutch costumes in the Batavian Republic at the beginning of the nineteenth century by Maaskamp, ca. 1807.
