About this work
Strip of natural bobbin lace: Antwerp lace. In the semi-circular shells stands a repeating and symmetrical motif of always one palmette flower, which hangs down from the straight upper edge on a straight stem. On the stem are two pairs of sideways-oriented leaves, including volute leaves. The motifs are made in linen stitch. The motifs are connected to each other by a more or less diamond-shaped lattice ground. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The shells are finished with picots.
