Border of bobbin lace with regularly wavy vine with peonies

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a regularly wavy vine with peonies. One peony always originates at an ascending wave and bends back towards the wave trough. The other peony waves just after each wave peak in the direction of the vine. Attached to the vine are also twigs with three smaller flowers, berries and flower buds. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and cutouts. They are connected by a fine mesh ground, a round Valenciennes ground. The shell edge is formed flat around the pattern and is finished with picots. The top of the strip is finished straight.
