About this work

On a grid ground, a Mechelen ground (also called ice ground), with some scattered four-petal flower shapes stands a walking pattern. Along the inside stand small hanging rose sprigs, in the center a dune rose on larger volute stems, which spring from the same flower that forms the clasp of the pure circular-arched shells. The shells consist of a pearl and rose border, enclosing a middle band with gridwork. Mechelen lace.
