About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Mechlin lace. On a fine mesh ground, a Mechlin ground (also called ice ground), with several rows of motifs at the top, stands a symmetrical pattern, which as a 'deposit' is more closed along the shell edge. Angularly drawn arches of 'railroad tracks' are accompanied by a fine scroll and three grape leaves, which form the pointed shells. Standing hexagonal medallions, whose hollow sides are doubled and carry a leaf crown, form the closing pieces of the arches. Above the arches stands a rose.
