The object, flat at the top and bottom and rounded at the sides, consists of three parts: the base, the wall, and the lid attached with a hinge. The base and lid have vertical profiled rims that enclose the wall of the box. The base has two engraved scenes of the Fall and the Expulsion of Adam and Eve from Paradise, and in the center a partially legible text relating to them. On the lid, three scenes of God's creation of man in Paradise and a partially legible text relating to them. The wall has engraved inscriptions on the front and back: 'Friendship shown without favor / That is a kind of [...] art' and 'who lives in the [...] time that / goes well without envy.'
