Brisé fan of ivory, entirely painted with tempera over which a lacquer-like varnish, with a central cartouche containing 'The Triumph of Love' on the front and an arcadian seascape on the back. Front: although the fan consists of a whole, the painted decoration attempts to create the illusion that the fan consists of a leaf and a mount. The loose legs are connected at the top by means of a ribbon. The Triumph of Eros; Eros sits on a triumphal chariot, preceded by musical figures and putti. To the right of this group two lovers are depicted, most likely Mars and Venus. The allegorical representation refers to the 'Trionfi' of Petrarch from 1352, in which he was one of the first to personify abstract ideas and place them in triumph on a triumphal chariot.
