About this work
Folding fan with parchment leaf, painted in gouache with a landscape featuring a landowner and a lady in a cartouche. On either side of the central image, a rectangle with a figure in a landscape in blue, painted in gouache. Dots and stars along the edges of the leaf. In the center of the back, a lady sitting by a tree, painted in gouache. The ivory mount is partially openwork, with two figures in relief, flanked by peacocks and rocaille ornaments; the back is smooth. The mount has 22 connected ribs. The outer ribs in relief with Commedia dell'Arte figures, on colored metal foil. Copper locking pin with ivory disc.
