About this work

Folding fan with a paper leaf on which is painted in watercolor: a central cartouche with a musical couple in a romantic landscape with a ruin and mountains; on the left a cartouche with a shepherd at a classical ruin and on the right a cartouche with a shepherdess, both in sepia. Around this, floral garlands. On a small hill. Open mount of pierced ivory (?) decorated with "métal en quatre couleurs". On the 16 non-continuous ribs, neo-classical decorations, such as urns. Locking pin missing.
