Milk Jug, Round, with Fluting and Acanthus Leaf

The service consists of a teapot (BK-15769) with an S-shaped curved spout and a wing-shaped handle, a milk jug (BK-15770) with a similar smaller handle and a wide lip, and a sugar bowl (BK-15771) on a foot with two similar, even smaller handles. The round, flaring bodies of the tea and sugar pots are decorated with cannelures, bounded at the top by a smooth edge, above which a slightly protruding ribbed edge. The top is built up from a wide, slightly hollow band, a narrow, horizontal, punched edge, a slightly convex frieze of acanthus leaves on a stippled ground and a narrow punched edge. Above the teapot there is a raised profiled upper edge into which the loose lid fits. This consists of a smooth, tapering lower part with a bell-shaped part on top, which is set off at the top with acanthus leaves and bounded at the bottom by a pearl border. Resting on this, connected by a diabolus-shaped intermediate piece, is an acorn-shaped knob.
