About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: old Milanese lace. The repeating pattern consists of two symmetrical compositions with curling leaves flanking a candelabra motif and a bow. The motifs are made in linen stitch with relatively large cutouts and openwork edges. The motifs are connected to each other by few braids, with picots. In all motifs decorative grounds are applied. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, the bottom being provided with a braided bow border with picots made with coarser thread.
