About this work

Parasol with a cover of black silk Chantilly bobbin lace on a white satin background, on a bamboo stick with an imitation tortoise shell (celluloid) knob and tip. Stick of smooth and colored bamboo with a white metal slide. The knob, the tip and the baleen tips are of celluloid. (Incidentally, the ball at the tip is missing.) Taffeta rosette between the slide and the lining. Lining of white pongee silk covers the entire interior. The baleens of the frame are of bamboo.
