About this work
Parasol with a cover of black machine-made lace featuring a repeating floral pattern and a wide, hanging strip of machine-made lace on tulle along the edge. Lined with black silk, with one interior decoration of white lace consisting of three flowers. Eight black-dyed metal ribs. The shaft has a curved handle of dark lacquered bamboo. At the level of the curve, a leaf-shaped metal plate, partly mounted as a spiral. Attached to the shaft is a black tassel secured with a black ribbon. At the top, an elongated point of the same bamboo with a metal tip. The parasol can be closed with a ring that can be slid up or down along the cover.
