About this work
Carriage parasol with cover of unadorned black satin, along which runs a strip of black tulle with machine embroidery. Lining of plain white pongee silk. The shaft is of ivory, with two spiral bands in relief. The handle ends in a T-shape. Several metal rings halfway along the shaft, one of which can be pushed upwards, allowing the shaft to bend. The upper part of the shaft is of lacquered wood. At the top an acorn-shaped knob, with a cotton cord through the hole, to which two matching tassels are attached.
