Parasol with a cover of machine-made Chantilly lace, decorated with flowers and leaves, on black satin and lined with white pongé silk on a wooden shaft with a handle of carved relief ivory. Sculpted parasol cover with a bouquet consisting of two large flowers and four long leaves in each shell. Border of ovals with leaf decoration above 'gadrons' with trefoils. Around it, a hanging strip of lace with hanging feather, leaf, and flower motifs. The wooden shaft is painted black. Metal ferrule. The ivory handle is partially twisted with a rope motif.
