About this work

Oak guild chest decorated with ebony and palmwood. On the front, atlans in the guise of Saint Anthony Abbot with a pig on the left and a bishop with a book on the right. In the center, a female saint as a caryatid. Between the posts, corniced panels. The base has a sliding drawer and rests on lion-shaped feet. On the left side inside, a cartouche with a compass; on the right, a plane. This indicates the chest served a carpenters' or joiners' guild.
