About this work
Mirror or picture frame lined with rosewood and ebony on a pine core. The frame consists of an inner part with a carved leaf border, surrounded by a wider border with openwork carved acanthus scrolls with flowers and fruit. The central pieces feature relief-carved putti symbolizing the five senses. This border is surrounded by a hollow-profiled molding with carved laurel branches with braided ribbons on the edge.
