Napkin of linen damask with the history of Abraham. Central field: the symmetrical pattern shows from bottom to top three scenes: 1 Abraham drives away Hagar and Ishmael. Abraham stands before his house, a hat on his head, handing Hagar a field flask and bread. Hagar is barefoot, wears a veil in the Sévigné hairstyle, and holds both hands in front of Ishmael, who stands between them and looks up at his mother. Inscription: HYSMAEL. 2 Hagar is comforted by an angel. While Hagar, in the center, sits weeping, an angel appears, standing and pointing to a fountain from which water flows abundantly. 3 Ishmael, overcome by thirst. On the sides a tree and shrubbery; in the center Ishmael lies, supported on one arm, with the empty field flask beside him on the ground. Standing borders: single vine with flowers and fruits; outside this: block border.
