Tablecloth with a hunting scene

Linen damask tablecloth with a hunting scene. Central field: the symmetric pattern, repeated three times horizontally, shows three scenes: 1 in the center a tree and a hexagonal fountain, around it animals being aimed at by a hunter at the bottom. The fountain is built from two dolphins, which carry two tazza's; to the sides a unicorn and in the air many birds. 2 Galloping towards the center is an amazon holding a falcon on her hand. She is dressed according to the fashion of 1640/60: wide décolleté, low hairstyle and wide, short puffed sleeves. Overhanging trees on either side. 3 A hunting lodge in a forest, in which a hunter blowing a horn is on the track of a fox. Furthermore a deer fleeing from dogs. After this scene 1 repeats. Vertical borders: doubled and separated by a line, symmetric pointed oval vines with spiral branches, which end in flowers, between which some birds; outside: wide block border.
