About this work
Tablecloth of linen damask with David, Nabal, and Abigail. Central field: the tripled pattern shows from bottom to top seven scenes: 1 Rams and shepherds. 2 Nabal, with a defensive gesture, on a seat between the bowing envoys of David. 3 Camels with riders. 4 Abigail offers kneeling gifts to David, who is seated on horseback and followed by helmeted riders with lances and flags. Above this again scenes 1, 2, and 3. Standing borders: symmetrical double trefoil arches with birds and flowers. Around: block border. Hem: double open.
