Linen damask napkin with the recapture of Buda from the Turks. The symmetrical pattern shows four scenes: 1 Two crowned shields, the first a bend charged with three eaglets (Lorraine) and the second the quartered field of Bavaria. Inscription: DUX LOTHARINGIAE [ET] ELECTOR BAVARIAE. 2 City view in a scalloped medallion with inscription BUDA, held by a wigged male figure dressed in a justaucorps and rhingrave, accompanied by a similar standing figure. 3 Rearing horse, ridden by a rider with a plumed wide-brimmed hat and a command staff. At his feet two fallen enemies. 4 In the center the crowned shield of the Holy Roman Empire; to the side and held by a flying eagle and a smaller shield of Hungary: divided: 1. cross with two crossbars standing on a mountain, 2 four crossbars. Caption AQUILAE VIRBUS IN POTESTATEM IMPERATORIS BUDA REDACTA EST. Standing borders: single volute scrolls, containing a halved eagle. Around: block border.
