About this work

Linen damask napkin with a hunting scene. Central field: the symmetrical pattern displays four scenes from bottom to top: 1 a hunting lodge with a porch and cross-windows surrounded by trees; 2 a hunter turned towards the center shooting at a bird; 3 a hexagonal fountain with waterfowl swimming and a reclining unicorn, peacocks and other birds on either side; 4 an Amazon on a horse galloping towards the center. She has a falcon on her fist: she wears low-hanging Sevigne curls, a bodice with a boat-shaped neckline and short wide sleeves. Standing borders: single, with spiral vines with flowers, fruits and birds; outside this, coarse block border.
