About this work
Armchair of walnut, belonging to a set of four armchairs. The front legs and armrest supports show house and jointing. The houses with leaf motifs are connected by a flat front rail with pierced leaf vines, between which is a winged female figure whose lower body turns into volutes. The broad, slightly hollowed flat armrests end in closed leaf volutes. The back stiles end in pierced leaf volutes. The original damask upholstery is covered with antique fabric from a chasuble.
