Savonnerie carpet with floral and acanthus pattern

Savonnerie carpet with flower and acanthus pattern. On a blue-black ground is a two-sided symmetrical system of acanthus vines with flowers in blue, white, yellow, pale rose and green. A dense tuft of flowers in the centre is surrounded by a thick floral wreath, which is wrapped at four places with hanging bows. On the width axis hangs from this a pair of horn-shaped curved acanthus leaf calices; on the length axis hangs a bell-shaped shell (?), from which emerge two pairs of flowered swirled acanthus vines, ending in volutes and crowned on the axis by a vase with an imperial crown. The central field is framed by a narrow zigzag band with alternating short and long hanging campanes with blue tassels. The border has, again on a blue-black ground, at the corners scrollwork cartouches, which are placed diagonally and provided with slits; on the middles of the long sides is an oval medallion with split scrollwork surrounded, while low baskets with flowers stand in between.
