About this work

Tassel with wool embroidery. On a yellowed canvas, a repeating candelabra motif. The tassel is lined with faded red taffeta silk and finished with a rosette of pink and white taffeta. The grip consists of a dark patinated, partially gilded bronze half-arch of two acanthus leaves, originating from the neck of a lion's head and closed by a gilded rosette.
