About this work

Secretary cabinet veneered with several types of wood on an oak core. The beveled corner posts on the front display a base, a fluted pilaster, and triglyphs. Above the flap, a drawer with three panels; the central panel with a rosette and the side panels with gilded copper handles with enameled plaques. The lower doors, flap, and sides feature round lacquer panels with flowers, surrounded by a pearl border, laurel wreath, and leaf volutes. The panels hang from a drapery with a bow, held by loops.
