About this work

Desk veneered with multiple wood species on an oak core. The middle section of the three-part desk is recessed, accentuated by stiles. Gilded bronze lion's paws are located under all the obliquely placed stiles. Decoration scheme: running dog motif on the drawers; a plait pattern on the three doors; octagonal fields on the sides; a diamond pattern on the top, all filled with leaf rosettes. Central motif on the top: large rosette surrounded by circles and a large plait band. Borders with Greek patterns.
