About this work

Skirt of quilted white satin, padded and decorated with embroidery of colored floss silk and silver thread. The quilting runs almost to the top, showing a diamond pattern filled with rosettes. The colored embroidery pattern consists of three rows of flower branches diminishing upwards. On the front, a larger flower branch between two peacocks; scattered smaller birds and a Chinese woman at the side slit. Center back, a band with a varied pattern. White linen lining.
