About this work

Skirt of white taffeta embroidered with multicoloured floral and foliate scrolls, lined with blue taffeta. Model: Four-panel straight skirt, pleated flat and with a light blue ribbon at the waist. Hooks and eyes close the two side slits. Lined with blue taffeta. Decoration: the colours salmon-pink, yellow, blue, violet, black and green are nuanced and worked in satin stitch, the hearts or contours accented with silver thread. Each panel has at the bottom a closed border of spiral scrolls, issuing from a central flower; above this a triangular, more open border of loose stems with flowers such as tulip, carnation and many fantasy flowers.
