About this work
Fichu of linen batiste, triangular and scalloped, decorated with a wide border of diamonds containing a bouquet of straw in tambour work, shadow work and needle lace. Cut on the bias. Decoration: the very shallow scallops are edged with a wave consisting of flowers on a single stem, feathered leaves and an open fantasy motif. Above, wavy bands (representing ribbons?) forming diamonds containing a bouquet of straw. At the top, at the intersections, a leaf or flower with a stem creating a wavy border.
