About this work
Mahogany armchair resting on square legs, upholstered in red silk velvet, trimmed with passementerie along the seat rails. The low side stretchers are scalloped at the bottom and the high back stretcher is narrowed in the middle at the bottom; the high front stretcher is partly pierced and partly openwork. Armrest supports with house and jointing. The back posts are beveled, fluted, and rolled at the top. The upholstery, supports, and parts of the front legs bear oval, elongated grooved copper nails.
