About this work

Tapestry with a hunting party and game. On the left, a group of four people: three women, respectively dressed in yellow, blue, and red floral, and a man in red clothing. In the center stands a hunter with a heron draped over him; followed by a turning horse with a man just stepping out of the stirrup, followed by a chestnut mare with a female rider, coming from a high hill. On the right, surrounded by dogs, lie a boar, a stag, hares, and birds, over which a group of three people bends: between two women, in blue and red, a man wraps his arms around both. In the distance, a hunting lodge. The scene takes place in a forest landscape with a view through the center and high trees on the sides, while the foreground is filled with large-leaved flowering plants, including rose, blackberry, chamomile, iris, some of which repeat. On the left, a fleshy leafy plant. The tapestry is part of the series "English Hunts".
