Strip of needle lace with diagonal cluster flower above two shells

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Alençon lace. The repeating pattern consists along the scalloped edge of a diagonally lying branch with a cluster of flowers with fan-shaped florets. Under the flower sit five feather-shaped leaves on the branch, of which four are directed upwards and one leaf hangs downwards. Above the flower branches is a strew pattern of round flowers with three petals. Under each flower branch sit two half-round scallops. Along the scallops runs a border of linked feather-shaped leaves with above it a wavy dotted line of mosses and below it a narrow decorative ground. The motifs are connected by an Alençon ground. The scallops are finished with an extremely fine picot border. The upper side of the strip is finished straight.
