About this work

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Alençon lace. Scatter motif with leaves and a round flower on a fine hexagonal mesh ground. The pattern at the lower edge of the strip consists of three rows of different leaves, filled with various decorative grounds. The leaves in the bottom row are relatively large and fan-shaped. They also form the finish of the strip, creating a scalloped edge at the lower side. The upper side is edged with a bobbin lace border.
