Strip of needle lace with tulip and rose branch in medallions

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Alençon lace. Pattern with a repetitive motif of medallions on a fine hexagonal mesh ground, scattered with rosettes at the top. Inside the medallions, alternately a tulip and a rose branch. The outer edge of the medallions consists of diverse flowers and leaves that increase in size towards the bottom. On either side of the largest flower at the bottom, an acanthus leaf. Various decorative grounds in the diamond-shaped spaces between the acanthus leaves and in a single flower. Along the lower edge, flowers and leaves forming scallops. The upper side is edged with a bobbin lace border.
