Bobbin lace garment with a symmetrical pattern formed by a ribbon
From the collection of Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Free to download, adapt and use — no permission needed.
Tablecloth of natural-colored bobbin lace: ribbon lace. Square model. The pattern is symmetrical and is formed by a continuous ribbon. The ribbon forms a narrow drop-shaped flower in each corner, between two leaves on a long stem pointing to the center. Between the flowers in the corners the ribbon forms a wide loop, with a flower in each. In the center of the cloth stands a flower with petals in form stitch. The flowers in the loops are also made in form stitch, as are the leaves on the twig that stands in each narrow drop-shaped flower. Ribbon of linen and net stitch. The petals are made in form stitch. The motifs are connected with picoted braids that form stars.
