Bodice of a wedding dress with train of white ottoman silk, decorated with effilé strips

Bridal gown of cream-colored ottoman silk. Bodice (A): pointed waist, stiffened front and back with whalebone. Front: diagonal V-shaped drapery from the right shoulder to deep folds at the waist, closing with a diagonal overlap. Standing collar. Long narrow sleeves with cuffs. Skirt (B): made of three gathered panels, slightly gathered at the hips in front, attached to the bodice. Four-panel train, strongly vertically pleated, extra long and rounded. Decoration: on the bodice a smooth, standing strip with a notched, cut-edge in the fringe, so-called effilés. Similar strips, but regularly gathered into pleats, are set along the hem and the train.
