About this work

Secretaire, signed R. Lacroix. Model: trapezoidal. Consists of an upper and lower part. Two-door lower cabinet, on slightly curved four-sided rectangular back legs with rounded corners transitioning into forward-projecting front legs in a slightly outward-bowing lower apron. Higher upper cabinet with flap and slightly overhanging light outward-bowing marble top. The stiles without transition to the slightly wavy side panels. Hardware. Decoration: marquetry in floral, bird, and shell motifs on front and side panels. Hardware (bronze) in the middle of the lower apron; at the corners of the stiles bronze lock plates. Blue-grey marble top with light profiling.
