About this work

Chalice cloth or veil of linen with around a border of natural-coloured lace embroidery: work with drawn threads (open work). The whole is finished around with a border of natural-coloured bobbin lace. Square model with rounded corners. The work with drawn threads has between two narrow bands with openwork ovals a wider band with larger openwork ovals and at each corner a wheel. The bobbin lace consists of a network of diamonds where the outer edge ends in a zigzag line with along it a picot edge of fine braided points.
