About this work
Handkerchief or nose cloth of natural-colored linen, edged all around with natural-colored bobbin lace: Old Flemish lace. The repeating pattern consists of a small square with a wheel inside, as in reticella patterns. Each square is finished with a fine shell motif with picots. Running along the edges of the handkerchief is a narrow border of work with drawn threads. The handkerchief is marked in red: C.
