About this work

Handkerchief of batiste with embroidery and finished all around with a border of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. Square model with rounded corners. Embroidery: along the edge runs a continuous pattern of small leaves and in each corner stands a flower bouquet, with needle lace decorative stitches in open work between palmette leaves. Lace: the repeating pattern consists of a hanging fuchsia flower on a curved stem, which springs between two oval leaves along the outer edge.
