Batiste handkerchief with plumetis embroidery and a bobbin lace border

Handkerchief of batiste with plumetis embroidery and a border of bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. Square model with rounded corners. The embroidery is located exclusively along the edge of the fabric. The pattern consists of a chain of lozenges, alternately worked up and provided with a star flower, a rosette flower with four leaves and a flower with six round petals. Between the lozenges small leafy branches spring. The lace is slightly gathered onto the textile and has a repeating pattern of a one-sided leaf with diagonally above a knot with cutout. The leaf springs from the pattern along the lower edge which consists of a chain of lying arches that form the scalloped edge. The scalloped edge is finished with picots. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and cutouts. The motifs are connected to each other by a lattice ground: a square Valenciennes ground.
