About this work

Handkerchief of batiste with embroidery and finished all around with a border of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. Square model with rounded corners. Embroidery: in the corners stand four long narrow leaves, directed towards the center of the handkerchief and always between two leaves a string with rosette flowers from large to small. Below three grape leaves between which open work with needle lace decorative stitches. In the middle along the sides a similar smaller pattern. Lace: the repeating pattern consists of a row of rosette flowers above which a row of dots or buds. Along the outer edge slightly pointed arch scallops, finished with picots.
