About this work
Strip of natural-colored Genoese bobbin lace. The pattern is formed by a repeating and symmetrical composition of two interlocking flowers, the upper with six lobes, the lower with seven. This double flower is placed in a semi-circular eleven-lobed shell. The pattern is built up from a winding ribbon in linen stitch with a braided ground. Thick threads have been used. The upper edge is unfinished or cut off, the strip is held together by a sewn-on woven band.
