Strip of bobbin lace with shells of fan flowers

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Old Flemish lace. The pattern consists of symmetrical scallops, which are formed by hanging thistle flowers, always one per scallop. Between the flowers stands a vertically placed pointed oval, at the top flanked on two sides by a circle. The motifs are connected by a plaited ground. The motifs are worked in linen stitch with few cutouts. The scallops are edged with picots. The top edge is finished with a straight edge.
