Tabernacle veil or apron with border of bobbin lace featuring a stylized flower between leaf volutes

Tabernacle veil or apron of linen finished on one short side with a ribbon in plain weave and along the other side with a strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Dutch bobbin lace. Rectangular model with rounded corners where the strip of lace goes around the bend with two pleats. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a stylized flower, flanked on the left and right by a lying volute leaf with above it an upward bending leaf or upward bending flower bud. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges. Between the successive flowers a kind of dense trellis ground is realized. Top and bottom of the lace strip are finished straight, where the underside (outer side) of the strip is provided with picots. In one of the corners linen is marked: '6*' embroidered with pink thread.
